The market has been crazy this week! On tuesday foreign cream was at 2,60 €/kg and on wednesday/thursday was already at 2,50 €/kg. Regarding first quality italian cream contracts were closed at higher prices than Milan report, between 1,84 and 1,86 €/kg exw.
Foreign raw milk was offered between 0,43 and 0,43 DAP Italy; at the beginning of the week italian raw milk was at 0,40 €/kg exw, but on friday it arrived until 0,365 €/kg
At the beginning of the week foreign skimmed milk was at 0,17 €/kg, but actually it was sold at 0,12 €/kg DAP Northern Italy, even less sometimes.
Butter reports showed fluctuation around 0,25 €. Kempten decreased of 0,25 € on the minimum (reaching 5,75 €/kg) and of 0,20 € on the maximum (reaching 6,00 €/kg). German average price is 5,876 €/kg. Holland reduced 0,10 €, reaching 5,86 €/kg; this report is in line with the german one but it’s not so oscillating. France reached 6,10 €/kg due to a decrease of 0,10 €.
Real quotation of markenbutter are at 5,60 €/kg DAP Italy, 10 cents more than real quotation of polish butter that is around 5,50 €/kg
GDO contracts for July are at 5,70 €/kg; average price in June was 6,04 €/kg
Someone is expecting a new rise in the price, someone else think that the market decline was due to the fact that people sold their stocks when the market started to decrease.
Anyway the majority thinks that the market will rise again between the end of August and October.
On german report, milk powder for food use is unchanged and the one for zootechnical use decreased. In Holland both decreased, the zootechnical more than the food one. In France all is untouched. The three reports are in line with the market, where first quality goods were sold at 1700 €/tons DAP Italy until December.
Last week 23500 tons have been sold at auction and now quantity of stocked goods is around 280000 tons. Most probably there will be two auctions in October/November. It’s sure that the next one will be tuesday 17th July.
Whey powder is unchanged in France, but the one for zootechnical use is lightly rising in Germany and Holland. On German report price of whey powder for food use is increased.
Average quotations of cheese european reports are still increasing for Edamer – at 2,97 €/kg – and for Emmentaler – at 4,51 €/kg; they are stable for Cheddar – at 3,36 €/kg – and for Gouda – at 3,00 €/kg.
On Milan report Pecorino Romano is decreased of 0,15 € this week, reaching 7,00-7,20 €/kg
